Building His Church

The Session (elders) of Grace has received the report of the Building Team and recommends that the congregation approve the building expansion to include sanctuary, narthex and classroom spaces.  So we’ll proceed as follows:

Annual Family Meeting - We will receive the report from the Building Team and the rationale of the Session as to the recommendation to build. We are only receiving the information from the Team and the Session and not discussing or voting on this recommendation. This meeting is on Wednesday, January 27, at 6:45.  (Dinner begins at 6:00)

Opportunities for Q & A/ discussion – For those who desire, members of the Building Team and Session will be available to provide information, answer questions, receive feedback in Room #3 on these dates:

• Sunday, January 31, after second service

• Tuesday, February 2, 7:00-8:00pm

• Thursday, February 4, 7:00-8:00pm

If you are unable to attend one of these and you have pressing questions or comments, please let us know.

Congregational Meeting – The Session is calling a congregational meeting to vote on the recommendation to approve the building expansion as proposed by our Building Team. This meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 10 at 6:45pm (dinner at 6:00). Although this is a BLAST night, the youth of Grace will be caring for the children so that BLAST teachers are free to attend the meeting. Note:  Although all are welcome, only those who are members of Grace can speak at the meeting and vote.

Notice of Congregational Meeting: The Session of Grace is calling a congregational meeting for February 10 at 6:45 to vote on the recommendation to approve the building expansion as proposed by our Building Team.

Based on the results of the readiness assessment, The Church Development Foundation has made the following recommendations:

1. Begin conducting a stewardship education process concerning financial commitments for the building expansion in the fall of 2008.

2. Base the efforts to seek support on prayer and God's leading.

3. Plan ways so that we will all be involved with the efforts to seek financial support for the building expansion project.

4. Establish a planned giving program to support the future ministry efforts of the church beyond this fall's focus on building expansion.
