Safety

One of our main goals as a ministry is to make sure that your child is safe and secure on Sunday mornings. Here are the safety precautions and policies we’ve set to meet that goal:
Screening Volunteers
All Children’s Ministry volunteers are screened using an application, state background check, and personal meeting with the Children’s Ministry staff.
Two Deep Policy
At least two volunteers must be present with children during all Children's Ministry activities.
Potty Policy
Volunteers must avoid going into the bathroom with a child whenever possible. If a child needs help, they are to leave the stall door open and the bathroom door open (if possible). Only women volunteers may take girls to the bathroom.
Security Nametags
For all children ages 0-5 (pre-kindergarten), security nametags are to be used. Parents will fill out the information portion with all pertinant information and place it on their child's back, keeping the smaller portion. To pick up a child, the caregivers will match the number on the child's sticker with the number on the parent's. Only parents (not siblings, friends, pet turtles, etc.) are to pick up children, and he or she must have the correct sticker.
Training and Teaching
While it is our goal to develop a community of volunteers and caregivers who will continually teach and learn from one another, we have set aside time at the start of each school year to pray for our children, review policies, look over curriculum, and discuss teaching tips and tricks. As new volunteers come throughout the year, Children's Ministry staff meets with them individually to do the same.
