Sundays

8:45(8:15 beginning Sept 12) & 10:45am Worship
We place great emphasis on our Sunday morning worship, a 75-minute service, which consists of congregational singing of hymns and contemporary praise songs, prayer, and preaching. We generally celebrate the Lord's Supper on the first Sunday of each month.  As part of the Christian community in Lawrence, we want to provide a church that faithfully teaches the Scripture and lives out the truth of Christ in our lives.

9:45 Sunday School (Begins September 12, 2010)
Our emphasis on knowing God's Word is reflected in our commitment to our Sunday
School. Visit our Adult Information page for a list of current class descriptions. Sunday school is offered for all ages. Please visit  the Children's Ministry page and YoG page for more information.

Children's Church

Infants
During Children's Church, infant room volunteers are provided with a set of verses with which they can pray for these covenant children and their families.  Please visit our Nursery page for more information.

Toddlers through Preschool
Parents are invited to check their child in prior to the start of the worship service or Sunday School. The church hour each week is centered around God's Word.  Children will learn of God's love and care for them as teachers tell the week's story with words, actions and concepts well-suited to their ages and abilities.  Stories are reinforced with games, crafts, songs, and some playground time and snacks mixed in.

Kindergarten through Third Grade
For our younger elementary kids, Children’s Church provides age-appropriate teaching time. Children begin the worship service with parents and then are dismissed for Children's church about twenty minutes into the service. Our hope is to point them to God’s character and to train them in God-honoring behaviors through exciting and engaging storytellers, kid-targeted music, and loving teachers.

Fourth Grade
The Transitions Class (Fall of fourth grade year) prepares 4th graders to become Children's Church Graduates by teaching them skills needed for meaningful participation in the corporate worship service.
Children begin the worship service with parents and then are dismissed for the class about twenty minutes into the service. In the spring, 4th graders join their parents in the sanctuary.
